Hartley Fitts came up with a great idea. Let’s have a Blooming Art show here in the Sandhills featuring art from our homes and floral arrangements interpreting that art by members, other garden club members and local artists. It was held at Campbell House and was an unqualified success! We literally had hundreds of attendees and the entire community was buzzing with great feedback.
Dolores was kind enough to capture pictures of the entire event, and they follow!

We had the good fortune to have our meeting room located directly next to the gardens which were awaking in beautiful fashion. If you didn’t get to attend the meeting, do stop by and walk in the lovely gardens.
We had wonderful and plentiful refreshments in a lovely Easter theme provided by Sharon Lawson, Diana Meyer and Peggy Sarvis.
Our program was presented by Dr. Michael Rowland, who is a retired general surgeon and now a local organic farmer. His presentation was “The Circle of Life: How Soil, Food and Human Nutrition are All Intertwined. You are what you eat. Healthy Soil, Healthy Food = Healthy People”. We were totally engaged in his very educational presentation on how much of our soil has been depleted of key nutritional components, and what to do about it.
