Open Meeting. “Discover the Benefits of a Plant Based Diet”. Retire Emergency Medicine & Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab physician, Dr. Darrell Simpkins, will speak on the benefits of following a plant-based diet. He will discuss the history of this type of diet, types of protein in meat vs. vegetables, health benefits and how to start a plant-based diet.

Amy Rozycki and Susan Kushay, Moore County Extension Master Gardner Volunteers, will speak on what you can do to have your garden meet the requirements to receive a 5-Star Garden Certification as a certified wildlife habitat. This presentation will be followed by a prepaid brunch – Cost $27.50
