Wow! What lovely gardens!

We wouldn’t want to have to water the three-plus acres of luscious gardens belonging to Christine and Gil Pritchard, but we surely enjoyed spending time in all the interesting “rooms” designed by DeLette Spain.

Char, Patti and Diane could hardly wait to tour these gardens
The side of the house (and throughout the gardens) were “fall ready”

A warm and welcoming firepit greeted us in the smaller garden (everything is relative) just off the house
Everyone gathered round to see the interesting specimens close to the house!
Poor Victoria… She got to lead the tour after the designer had to cancel but as usual she did a great job. Thanks to her and Hartley for the wonderful venue
Because of the unusual venue, we moved to the Women’s Exchange for our meeting and optional lunch… Always great to see upgrades and improvements at the Exchange!E
Lunch at the Exchange was terrific… and the team served everyone who stayed for lunch in FIVE MINUTES! Tasty and efficient!

The Year Gets Off to a Great Start

Birds, birds, birds!   We were lucky to ave Park Ranger, Mark Prinz, present an overview for us on Backyard Birds in the Sandhills.  His presentation was wideranging, from habits of the various birds we see frequently in the Sandhills to how and what to feed and maintain a welcome environment.

Helen and Thea shared refreshments and a chat!
Pat Welch, Club Programs, welcomed and introduced our keynote speaker, Ranger Mark Prinz.
Rita, and Elaine provided us with the CUTEST items for our break. They share with Amy and Sophie how they put it together! So FUN and creative!
Rita and Cynthia also took time to appreciate the creative food and décor!
Tracye and Hartley were looking forward to the presentation by Ranger Prinz
As usual, Victoria and Char were colorful and photogenic

We missed something important!

Our illustrious First VP, Hartley Fitts, was awarded the Sequoia Award for all her efforts on behalf of the Club during this Club Year, and we missed sharing that in our May blog!  Hartley was recognized by President, Linda Lindsey, because she not only managed all our programs for us but also came up with the amazing idea to hold our very successful Blooming Art event.   On top of that, she managed the entire project from beginning to end — and what a success that was!  We’re so lucky to have this plucky lady share her talents with us!   What would we do without her???  Congratulations, Hartley!
