There was “Magic” in the Air for our Annual Mystery Tour Fundraiser!

We had a beautiful day for our mystery tour this year!  We began our day at CCNC where drivers got their instructions for the day and we proceeded with our guests to two members homes, decorated for the season.   The homes were different in every way – one Meredith’s lovely contemporary home in CCNC and the second Pat’s country cottage in the Village.   Our theme for this year was “Random Acts of Kindness”.   Each guest and member received an ornament with an act of kindness attached as well as a home made cookie.

A quirky Santa welcomed guests in the Village
Matt Hollyfield created a fabulous arrangement for Meredith’s gorgeous home

Hartley and Peggy looked so festive for the tour
Jan and Jane chatted while enjoying the lovely decor
One of the wonderful things about the holidays is having our guests with us. The two Janes, with Louise, Linda, Peggy and Malinda celebrated
Co-chairs of the tour – Karen and Pat loved putting the event together but were thrilled to be done!
Malinda and Rita enjoyed the holiday treats!
Martha Vance looked like she belonged on Pat’s Christmas tree!
Nancy, Thea and Cav were so welcoming to guests Clair, Wanda, BJ and Pat
Teresa Hirt’s lovely voice made the Christmas carols special
Jocelyn and Char welcomed Char’s guests – Vicki, Joyce and Yvonne
Rita, Barbara, Alice and Donna had a magical adventure
Martha with the special gift for Associate members which is an MMT tradition

Following the home tour, we traveled to Mid-Pines for an eggnog welcome, a terrific treat in a program from the Pinecrest chorus, sharing their renditions of wonderful holiday music.   Then Matt Hollyfield shared inspirations on holiday arrangements.   Who knew the importance of using bleach???   We are thankful to Matt, whose creative team took items curated from members yards (pine cones, greens and over four dozen dried hydrangeas) to make the centerpieces for our tables for our wonderful luncheon.   We then as another random act of kindness we donated the arrangements to Clara McLean house to help cheer the families there.

The November meeting had a change of dates, but not enthusiasm!

There’s been lots of anticipation of this meeting’s program!

Our November meeting at Weymouth Center for the Arts featured a special program presented by Carol Dowd, AFID and owner, Botanicals Fabulous Flowers and Events.  She offered a program on Designing Floral Arrangements inspired by Paintings and Art Objects.

Karen reminded everyone about the upcoming Magical Mystery Tour – sign up today if you haven’t … it’s going to very special
Malinda and Beth stopped to chat with Dolores
The “Jan’s” enjoyed the refreshments with Char and Marilee – Anne, Jane and Thea provided a lovely offering

What’s better than a garden in the rain?

Anyone who thought our ladies would opt out for touring three special gardens in the rain was seriously mistaken!   We welcomed fall at two beautiful houses with gardens that were just as special and finished our tour at the Given Library where our Club’s new piece of the library garden was unveiled by President, Linda Lindsay.  It was a glorious day!

Our meeting started in Marilyn’s dining room amid her wonderful Star pumpkin collection.
Char and Elaine chatted after the meeting
Diana, Anne-B, Nancy & Ritz took time from the gorgeous snacks in Marilyn’s kitchen to share a smile with Dolores
Lydia and Betty channeled blue skies with their blouses… even though it didn’t scare the clouds away
Meredith, Peggy, Marilee and Karen brought sunshine to the meeting
Our two hostesses no doubt sharing relief that all their work to prepare their homes and gardens turned out so magnificently, even in the rain!
During the meeting we were all reminded of the Halloween putting event coming up at the Country Club… make sure you get your teams registered so you have a chance to bring home Miss Thistle Dhu for a season
Marilyn’s garden had us all oohing and ahhing with the creative way her garden welcomed us
What’s a little rain among good friends and beautiful gardens?
Rita’s gorgeous gardens were only outdone by her glorious house!
